This month we celebrate some fascinating beauty brands: from the luxe Swiss jewelry label Chopard to buzz-worthy NYC niche fragrance house KierinNYC. Both approach blending prestige scents in unique ways that offer an olfactory journey. I love to see a brand communicate its point-of-view through perfume. Versace is a great example of this. When you sniff a Versace scent, you immediately get the glam, over-the-top personality of Donatella. We spotlight her summer gift-with-purchase backpacks in this issue.
Summer makeup collections continue to gain popularity thanks to the flattering bronze, gold and sand shades. Clarins’ Sunkissed Collection is one of their best to date and illustrates all you need to update your beauty look this season: a good quality bronzer and a blue eye pencil. Of course, you need to be diligent with your sunscreen this time of year. Look for a formula that protects against both UVA and UVB rays with a minimum SPF30. Be sure to reapply after swimming or exercise. More than 80% of the signs of skin ageing are due to UV damage.
